ALEPS EKIDEN Half Marathon 2024

ALEPS EKIDEN HALF MARATHON 2024 (AEHM’24) is a relay race with total race distance of 21 km.

AEHM’24 is inspired by the traditional Japanese Ekiden (Japan relay race) which is popular as inter-varsity competitions between schools or universities in Japan, and its popularity has since become widespread and worldwide.

In AEHM’24, team of 5 runners will run and complete a total race distance of 21km in a relay race format (5 legs). The first runner of the team will start the race by wearing sash (Tasuki). At the transitional point, first runner will pass the sash to the second runner, the relay will continue until the last runner of the team finishes the race.

All runners will receive a Finisher’s Medal each on the condition that the team finishes the race within the stipulated cut off timings - 3.5 hrs.

Our goal is to create an engaging and health-promoting event that brings together our alumni, local and Japan community in a spirit of camaraderie, fitness, and celebration. This event will not only promote physical well-being but also serve as a platform for strengthening relationship between Malaysia and Japan.

How to register?
* Minimum age to participate is 13 years old.
* There are 8 team categories available, including Men, Women and Mixed Team (Mixed team must consist at least 1 participant of the opposite gender).
* A team leader will need to register for the entire team and provide their Team Name.
* Early Bird registration close: 16 Feb 2024
* Registration close: 20 Apr 2024

Category Eligibility
* All categories, except for Category H (International Mixed) are open to team of Malaysian, Malaysia permanent residents, and/or expatriate who hold a legal employment / dependant pass in Malaysia.
* Teams can mix Malaysians and non-Malaysians (expatriate) in one team.
* Category H (International Mixed) is only for participants who do not reside in Malaysia.
